Sights:
1. Tian An Men Square, the largest public square in the world. It is the
must place to visit in Beijing City. It has become a relaxing place for the
common people to fly kites and walk. On important festivals, the whole square is
covered with fresh flowers.
2. Forbidden City, which was once home to the emperors for over 500 years in
the Ming and Qing dynasties.
3. Temple of Heaven: where dynastic rulers in China used to worship the
heaven. It's a worthwhile visiting place in Beijing. Much bigger than the
forbidden city.
4. Summer Palace: A former summer resort for the royal family. Well known
for it's large and priceless collection of cultural relics, it was among the
first group of key cultural relics sites under state protection.
5. Great Wall: The Great Wall is the landmark of China. 6700-kilometer-long
ancient wall. As on e of the Eight Wonders in the world, the Great Wall
of China has become the symbol of the Chinese nation and its culture.
6. Ming Tombs: where 13 emperors of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) were
buried.
7. Peking Opera or acrobats.
8. Hutong(alleyway) tour- The ancient civilian district in Beijing. You will
experience three wheels rickshaw ride.
9. Visit the biggest Tea market in the North China.
10. Visit orphanage. (Hope foster home or Langfang children's village). Have
to make appointment ahead.
11. Visit local market. Stay at Chinese house(apartment), learn how to make
JiaoZi (Chinese dumpling) and other Chinese traditional food.
Shopping in Beijing:
- Visit Folk artist. To buy Chinese traditional art gifts. Such as: Bristle
dolls, paper cutting, kites, clay figurines and toys.
Accommodation:
Four or five star hotel, (two sharing standard room) with breakfast.
For families who would like to stay at our apartment, we have to declare
that we are not located in the center of Beijing. But my apartment is new, clean and comfortable (check picture and video).
We provide
- free internet access (laptops are available for free during your staying with
us);
- Free local call (for long distance or international call we prepare
phone cards for you);
- There are Carrefour (similar with Wal-Mart) and Super Lotus near our
apartment.
- Local market, grocery stores, massage place, ect. It's very convenient and
safe in our community. Security 24 hours on their duty.
Meals:
- If families stay at hotel, they are going to enjoy western breakfast at
hotel, Lunch and Dinner at local Chinese restaurant.
- For families staying at host family, Breakfast and dinner are prepared by
host family and Lunch in local Chinese restaurant.
